Future manpower demand in the sector (2018-2023)



According to the opinion of respondents' regarding recruitment trends for the last three (3) years (from 2014-2016), we found that there is a strong relationship between year and employment recruitment trends. While forecasting for the future (2018-2023), we need to follow the previous 3 years’ recruitment trends.


  • The Survey team selected 45 industries out of 54, and collected data from different levels of employees and authorities.
  • Collected previous 3 years’ data from 2014-2016.
  • By survey found that there is a strong relationship between year and employment recruitment trends
  • During forecasting for 2018-2023, it is shown that need of skilled workforce by the organization is positive
  • The values of R-square are> .96 which means the trends of recruitment is very positive and increasing.
  • The trend shown on the base of 45 surveyed industries, out of 54 industries employment opportunity (future need) will be 58248
  • The trend shows on the basis of 45 surveyed industries out of 54, employment opportunity (future need) will be 58248 by the future (2018-2023) whereas in 2017 it was 27043, that means it will be more than double in the existing year 2017
  • If we consider whole ceramic sector for 83 industries, the future skill manpower demand will be 82189.
  • According to BCMEA, each year several numbers of industries are coming under operation that means by 2023 there will be 83 industries; so, future manpower demand will be 83= 82189. without SME.

  • Each year about 20000 skilled workers including SME are required for this sector that means the sector is moving forward having forward with the job opportunity for 20000 youth, if we consider SME industries of this sector.
